Human & Special Services
The Gloucester County Division of Human and Special Services fosters a comprehensive human services delivery system by implementing, coordinating, and improving our network of community-based organizations through the use of our Federal, State, and County funds. The division's goal is to enhance the quality of life of people in Gloucester County by creating an environment of public trust; empowering and strengthening individuals and families, advocating for sound policy, mobilizing resources, and acting as champions for those who are most vulnerable and in need of services.

- Children's Services (Behavioral Health, Developmentally/Intellectually Disability, and Substance Use Disorder)

The Gloucester County Division of Human and Disability Services is an Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) agency helping to connect people with disabilities between the ages of 18 to 59 years old with the services they need to achieve and maintain independent living in the community. The division is a comprehensive center, offering information, direct services, referrals, and community advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The division has been designated to coordinate Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) issues, serve as a resource for municipalities and the community, and examine the impact of regulations that may effect the disabled community.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990. 2020 marked the 30th Anniversary of this transformational legislation, which is known as the Civil Rights Act for individuals with disabilities.
Code Blue Warming Centers
Code Blue is in effect anytime the temperature is 32 degrees or below. For a list of warming centers in Gloucester County, CLICK HERE

Project SEARCH
Project SEARCH is a transition to work program that lasts for one school year. The program serves young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that need an intensive year of career development, internship experience, and support to reach their goals. The program embraces interns that have other disabilities (such as physical and mental health disabilities) and challenges (such as poverty and homelessness) as well.
