[ARCHIVED] Gloucester County announces two new funding opportunities for local organizations

(WOODBURY, NJ)- Gloucester County Commissioner Deputy Director Heather Simmons has announced two new recovery grant opportunities available to Gloucester County municipalities, non-profits and local businesses.

“Both of these grant programs are valuable opportunities for local municipalities and nonprofit organizations,” said Simmons, who serves as Liaison to Economic Development. “The Public Facilities and Infrastructure Activities for Municipalities and Non-Profits Grant supports organizations in their efforts to study and respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Additionally, the Youth Summer Employment grant will provide youth and young adults with valuable internships that can help them to successfully transition to the world of work,” said Commissioner Director Frank DiMarco, “I encourage local businesses to see if this program is a fit for their organization, and apply for this funding.”

Simmons noted that both grant opportunities stemmed from recommendations made by the 75-member Gloucester County Economic Recovery Collaborative. Simmons convened that team of community stakeholders in 2021 to address regional recovery priorities.

The Gloucester County Department of Economic Development is available to assist with questions or applications to the grants available.  For additional information, interested entities may visit https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/397/Economic-Development or call 856-384-6930.
