The Gloucester County Commission for Women and The Arc Gloucester are co-sponsoring a Parent Education Workshop dedicated to “What Parents Should Know About the IEP Process” on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Sunshine Inn at Camp Sun ‘N Fun, 1036 North Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094.
“The Individualized Education Program can be an overwhelming process to navigate. Our workshop was created to help answer some of the questions parents and guardians may have prior to meeting with school personnel,” said Director Frank J. DiMarco.
The workshop, funded by the Gloucester County Board of County Commissioners and The Arc Gloucester, will feature speakers from the firm Hinkle, Prior and Fischer, Attorneys at Law.
“The presentation will provide a basic overview of intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as identify resources, discuss key resource processes, and raise awareness,” said Commissioner Jim Jefferson, liaison to the Commission for Women.
The workshop is open to the public. A light dinner will be served. Door prizes will be available. Pre-register to be entered in a special drawing for a door prize. Free child care will be provided (children must be toilet-trained and must be pre-registered). Provider resource tables also will be available.
