[ARCHIVED] Rowan College of South Jersey Varsity Golf finishes 2nd at NJCAA Region 19 Championships

The Rowan College of South Jersey Varsity Golf Team won big at the NJCAA Region 19 Championships at Ashbrook Country Club.

Roadrunner Golf finished with 728 points, just behind County College of Morris with 650 which earned them 2nd place in the state and the region. The top teams were County College of Morris, RCSJ Gloucester, Ocean County College, and Raritan Valley.

“Rowan College of South Jersey is not just a premier educational facility, our sports teams are quickly expanding and becoming fierce competitors,” said Director Frank J. DiMarco. “We are very proud of the Roadrunners as these are their first honors since returning to full varsity status post COVID."

Two Roadrunners played well enough to represent Rowan College of South Jersey NJCAA National Tournament at Chautauqua Golf Club in NY June 6-10. Congratulations to Freddie Ramos and Tyler Geatens who earned 1st and 2nd team All-Region XIX honors.

“The Roadrunners had an outstanding performance during their 2022 return. Being a student athlete is not an easy balance. We are very proud of this accomplishment while also carrying a full-time course load,” said Commissioner Lyman Barnes, liaison to education.

Congratulations to the 2022 Varsity Golf Roadrunners: Freddie Ramos, Tyler Geatens, Jack Wheaton, Cole Bruner and Skylar Amoroso. Special thank you to Coach Guy Davidson for an amazing year!

The Roadrunners practice at the Pitman Golf Course, an 18-hole regulation golf course, practice putting green, driving range and a full-service clubhouse restaurant and bar. The golf course is owned and operated by the County of Gloucester and the services provided are under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners.
