[ARCHIVED] Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office participated in “Operation Clean Sweep”

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office took part in “Operation Clean Sweep” conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The high-impact fugitive apprehension initiative focusing on some of the most violent offenders throughout New Jersey took place during the week of September 13, 2021.

“We continue to be very proud of the work that the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office does across the County and State,” said Director Robert M. Damminger. “Our officers under the leadership of Sheriff Morina work very hard to keep Gloucester County and our residents safe.”

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit netted over 30 fugitives during the week-long fugitive operation in Gloucester County. Three of the fugitives were on the Sheriff’s “Top Ten List”.

Sheriff Carmel M. Morina praised all who took part in the operation stating, “Once again our partnership with the U.S. Marshals Service has led to the successful and safe apprehension of over 30 fugitives in Gloucester County. I would like thank all our local and county partners for their assistance in our effort to keep the residents of Gloucester County safe. As always our fugitive unit will continue to work diligently to bring fugitives to justice.”

“Operation Clean Sweep is an example of how important partnerships like this are to keeping our County safe. The apprehension of these individuals will continue to keep our County and State safe,” said Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco.

To date the Sheriff’s Office has apprehended 217 off the Sheriff’s Top Ten Most Wanted List.
