The Gloucester County Board of Commissioners and the Workforce Development Board have free career services at the American Job Center.
September 4, 2021 is the deadline for extended unemployment benefits and the American Rescue Plan Act’s weekly $300 supplemental benefits received by more than 200,000 New Jerseyans.
“The job market has become increasingly competitive and many industries are offering increased hourly wages, sign-on bonuses and free college tuition to attract and retain employees,” said Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger. “This means there are thousands of opportunities in South Jersey to land a good paying job with an attractive benefits program.”
“While extended pandemic-related unemployment benefits expire on September 4, thousands of businesses throughout South Jersey have job opportunities,” said Commissioner Heather Simmons, liaison to the Department of Economic Development. “The Of Gloucester County Workforce partners are ready to help with a range of career related services.”
The free services offered at the American Job Center include:
- Job search assistance
- Resume reviews and interview skills
- Career counseling
- Training grants for unemployed and underemployed individuals
- In person and virtual job fairs and recruitment events
