(Clayton, NJ)—The Gloucester County Animal Shelter (GCAS) is here to help residents find the perfect pet for their family.
Although limiting access to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GCAS will schedule appointments for you to come see the animals available for adoption.
Adoption hours at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter are Tuesday through Thursday noon to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday noon to 4 p.m.
Adoption hours are by appointment only. GCAS is still limiting access to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Until further notice, dogs and cats 6 years old and younger will have their adoption fees reduced to $35. Dogs and cats 6 years and older will have their adoption fees completely waived.
“Right now, we want to encourage our residents to explore our pets at the shelter and see if one of the pets is right for your home,” said Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger. “We’re overjoyed by the number of pets that have found forever homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Gloucester County residents that are interested in adoption, should call GCAS at (856) 881-2828 to confirm availability. Adoption applications should be filled out and submitted online.
“In addition to adoptions and fostering, residents are also taking advantage of our Pet Food Pantry,” added Commissioner Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco. “We created this food pantry to help keep our pets in your homes. This is a very stressful time for many, and we’re thankful to everyone who donated so we could stock our shelves and start helping our residents.”
Residents can drop donations to the Pet Food Pantry at the front of the Gloucester County Animal Shelter at 1200 N. Delsea Dr., Clayton 08312.
Any pet owner struggling to feed their pets due to the COVID-19 pandemic, can visit the Pet Food Pantry to pick up pet food for their dogs and cats. If any Gloucester County resident is in need of food please call the shelter to confirm availability and schedule a time for pickup at (856) 881-2828 ext. 3.
