The Gloucester County Commission for Women is sponsoring a virtual event to mark the Commission’s continuing commitment to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of exemplary women to the essence and fabric of Gloucester County.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s virtual event will serve as an alternative forum to the biennial Women of Achievement (WOA) program that the Commission has convened in years past to honor and highlight the successes of selected women living or working in Gloucester County.
The virtual Women of Achievement Table Talk: Women Coping in the Current Environment will take place Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:15 P.M. via Zoom. The purpose and theme of this year’s roundtable is to offer tips and advice to attendees on coping with economic and social challenges during this turbulent time.
Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said, "We are extremely lucky to be amongst so many extraordinary women who have exceled in their professional career, their commitment to their community and to their families."
The keynote address will feature Dr. Annette Mallory Donawa, an international speaker, author, educator and mother who will offer the audience great tips for coping during this tumultuous time. As part of the program, winners from the 2018 Women of Achievement program will outline their latest projects and accomplishments. A question-and-answer activity will follow the presentations.
County Commissioner Jim Jefferson, Liaison to the Commission for Women will make an appearance.
Commissioner Jefferson said, "The women selected to receive this achievement award demonstrate leadership and success in their area of expertise and we are proud to honor them for their tremendous achievements and dedicated service."
Upon registration for the event through email to Rena’ or Jennifer (emails are above), attendees will receive Zoom information, including the date, time, ID number and password.
