Caregiver Support Program

Our Caregiver Specialist continues to reach out to our caregiver of the elderly and grandparent caregivers to assure they are safe and have the resources they require. The Gloucester County Caregiver Support Program provides support and assistance to Caregivers and assists them in accessing services to help maintain individual caregiving needs.

Services Offered

  • Access to supplemental services to ease the strain on the caregiver
  • Addressing Cognitive Impairments Before It's too Late - A online guide provided by EduMed.org to help caregivers understand cognitive issues because early detection and screening is key
  • Assistance to Grandparents Raising Grandchildren- support for grandparents who have a child under 18 living with them year-long
  • Individual counseling and support
  • Information, assistance and guidance to navigate through the system of available in-home support services for the caregiver's loved ones
  • Monthly Support Group - "Circle of Caring" - meets monthly at:

Programs & Services Which Benefit Caregivers

The following programs are subject to clinical and financial eligibility:

  • Adult Day Services Program: Offers assistance to caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s Disease or related disorders by providing subsidized adult day services 
  • Jersey Assistance to Community Caregivers (JACC): Provides in-home services to seniors at risk of placement in a nursing home
  • Kinship Navigator Program for grandparents raising a child under the age of 18; financial assistance may be possible through this State Program
  • Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS): provides in-home services to seniors at risk of placement in a nursing home
  • Statewide Respite: provides respite care for elderly and functionally impaired persons age 18 and older to relieve their unpaid caregivers of stress arising from the responsibility of providing daily care
