Patriot Day SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL SERVICE
(Mantua, NJ) - The Gloucester County Board of Freeholders and the Mantua Township Mayor and Committee will hold the Gloucester County Patriot Day Ceremony to commemorate the September 11th attacks on the United States.
This year's remembrance will take place on Tuesday, September 11th at 8:30 a.m., at the Place of Reflection, 9/11 Memorial located inside the Chestnut Branch Park, Main Street, Mantua. The event is open to the public.
The Memorial is a tribute to Gloucester County residents: John Rodak, Nicholas W. Brandemarti, Perry Thompson, and all of those who lost their lives during the attack on America on September 11th 2001.
The Gloucester County 9/11 Memorial consists of a twisted I-beam from the World Trade Center along with memorial plaques and a ceremonial bell which is rung only at the 9/11 Ceremony.
The ceremony will include bell ringing to coincide with the timing of the tragic events of that fateful morning, as well as a wreath laying at the 9/11 Memorial.
"It is important that we come together as a community on Patriot Day to remember the lives of our local victims and all of the 2,996 that were killed in the attacks on September 11th," said Freeholder Director Sweeney.
