Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity New Gloucester County Tourism Action Committee to Hold First Meeting

WHAT:  A newly formed Gloucester County Tourism Action Committee (TAC) has been created to facilitate more tourism related activities and events through out the county.  They will hold their first meeting tomorrow, 33 members of the committee will be in attendance.

Regionally, the tourism industry accounts for $2.5 billion dollars in economic impact, and statewide tourism is a $31 billion dollar industry. In Gloucester County alone, tourism industry employs 8,700 people and accounts for $300 million in economic impact.

Members of this committee include Chamber of Commerce members, Small Business owners, Hotel and Campground management, Historical Societies representatives, Restaurant Owners, local tourism attraction Staff, and Farmers in addition to local government leaders.
