Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity SEPTEMBER 11TH MEMORIAL SERVICE

The Gloucester County Board of Freeholders and the Mantua Township Mayor and Committee will hold a Patriot Day Ceremony to commemorate the 6th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States. 

This year's remembrance will take place on Tuesday, September 11th at 8:30 a.m., at the Place of Reflection, 9/11 Memorial located inside the Chestnut Branch Park, Main Street, Mantua.  The event is open to the public.

The Memorial is a tribute to Gloucester County residents:  John Rodak, Nicholas W. Brandemarti, Perry Thompson, and all of those who lost their lives during the attack on America on September 11th 2001.

The ceremony will include bell ringing to coincide with the timing of the tragic events of that fateful morning, as well as a wreath laying at the 9/11 Memorial.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Lawson-Cox Post No. 7679
Members of the Mantua Township Fire Companies, Ambulances and Police Department
Mantua Det. Sgt. Berton G. Brucker II, responded to World Trade Center on September 11th and was assigned to Liberty State Park before being relocated to a post on 14th Street and then to Ground Zero where he participated in recovery work.
