Neighborhood Stabilization Program Open House
(Paulsboro) - Gloucester County and the Borough of Paulsboro are pleased to announce the completion of the second unit renovated under the Gloucester County Neighborhood Stabilization Program. An open house for 205 W. Washington Street in Paulsboro has been scheduled by the program's developer, Triad Associates, for Saturday, August 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 29th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All interested buyers are invited to attend.
With $2.5 million received in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funding, Gloucester County is substantially rehabilitating 20 foreclosed or abandoned homes in Woodbury and Paulsboro.
This home is the second home that has been fully renovated, including, but not limited to, roof replacement, new heating and air conditioning units, new water heater, new windows (dual pane), insulated exterior doors, new appliances, new flooring, interior and exterior paint, new front yard landscaping, baseboards, attic insulation, smoke detectors, new plumbing and electrical and inspection for termites and lead-based paint.
The unit at 205 W. Washington is a three bedroom ranch, located on a quiet street in Paulsboro and will be sold for $120,000. Down payment assistance and closing assistance may be available to the buyer and the home is in "move-in" condition. A new heating system, hot water heater, security system and carpeting were installed. The home's location is convenient to schools, public transportation, shopping, medical services, a public park and recreation areas.
Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney said, "This program provides a tremendous opportunity for citizens to become homeowners in the county, and to keep our neighborhoods occupied and viable. One of our new owners purchased a home a few blocks away on N. Adams and is enjoying homeownership."
Freeholder Joseph A. Brigandi, Jr, said, "The properties in the NSP program are a great way for families to own their homes and with the construction of the Port of Paulsboro underway, we are going to continue to see a renewal of our neighborhoods." Brigandi is the liaison to the Department of Economic Development.
