SHERIFF ANNOUNCES KICK OFF OF ATTORNEY ID PROGRAM

(Woodbury, NJ) - Sheriff Carmel Morina announced today that the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office will be issuing Attorney Identification Cards that will be valid statewide.   The card will be issued to Attorney's at a $25.00 fee.  The cards are designed to be easily recognized by Sheriff's Officers.  Provided by a grant, the cost to purchase the hardware, software and supplies to produce the cards is $11,000.00.  The state revised its funding offer to counties requiring them to pay costs up front and apply for reimbursement.

Freeholder Director Sweeney along with the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders agreed to this arrangement, and the county has since been reimbursed its' funds for the program.  Sheriff Morina said, "We feel this not only allows our office to identify card carrying attorneys, but afford the attorney opportunities that may be given in other court facilities statewide."

If attorneys would like to purchase the identification, please contact Eric Gross at the Sheriff's Field Services Division at 384-4615.
