(Deptford, NJ) – The Gloucester County Animal Shelter and the PetsMart in Deptford Township will hold two ‘photo-opportunity’ weekends for pets and their owners to have their holiday picture taken with Santa.

The “photo opportunity” will be held on:
Friday, December 8th and Friday December 15th from 5:30 pm to 9 pm
Saturday, December 9th , Sunday, December 10th, Saturday, December 16th and Sunday, December 17th all  from 10 am to 1:30 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm

The events take place the PetsMart in Deptford Township on Clements Bridge Road.

The cost of the photo is $9.95 and $5.00 from each photo package sold this weekend benefits homeless animals at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, the rest will pay for film and materials.

This year customers can also choose to donate to a “PetsMart Wish Tree” for $1, $5 or $10, all of which will be donated to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter.

Guest Santa’s this year will include Bill Lombardi, Gloucester County Animal Shelter Director and family (Dec. 17th), and Ken Atkinson and family, Director of the Office of Land Preservation (Dec. 10th afternoon).  Shelter staff and many county employees will volunteer as elves, photographers and “Santa”.

“We are grateful to PetsMart for their continued generosity, and we are thankful for our Shelter staff and all of our volunteers who are dedicated to the homeless animals in our County all year long,” said Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney.

Freeholder Frank DiMarco, liaison to the County Animal Shelter said, “Our Animal Shelter has a very challenging job and this is a fun way that they raise funds and awareness of the Shelter.  Start the tradition of bringing in your pet for a photo and the proceeds will go to a great cause.”
