COUNTY & GCC TO HOLD VETERANS DAY CEREMONYHonoring All Veterans and Remember the signing of the Armistice on November 11, 1918

(Woodbury, NJ)- Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney and Freeholder Bill Krebs, liaison to Veterans Affairs, announced today that the County in conjunction with Gloucester County College will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony at 12 o'clock noon on Friday, November 11th. The event will take place at the flag poles and courtyard in the college Quadrangle, and is open to the public.

This year's Veterans Day ceremony will include the Semper Fi Detachment of the Marine Corps League who will present the Colors, singing of the National Anthem, and there will brief addresses by Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney, GCC President Bill Anderson, Bob Jonas, Commander of the Gloucester County Veterans Advisory Committee Freeholder Liaison Krebs, and Steven Duncan, DAV Chapter 64 Commander.

"On behalf of the County and the College, we invite all of our Veterans and residents to join our ceremony to honor our veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve our country," said Freeholder Director Sweeney.

Freeholder Director Sweeney stated, "We have had a very busy year in our Veterans community - from the positive things that occurred like our VA Clinic going from part-time to full-time, our Cemetery, and how we were graced with a visit from the Traveling Wall that Heals - to the painful losses in our region and our country from the war. We must all take time to reflect and remember our veterans."
