Library offers Brainfuse, an online tutoring program for students

(Mullica Hill, NJ)—The Gloucester County Library System (GCLS) is bringing tutoring into residents’ homes thanks to Brainfuse.

Brainfuse can be used on demand, anytime, anywhere with eLearning for all ages and levels. Brainfuse HelpNow offers a personalized homework help in core subjects (math, reading, writing, science and social studies) including SAT preparation.

“The Library has always been home to tutoring, and due to COVID-19 we had to come up with a new solution to helping our residents succeed in their education,” said Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger.

“It was important to keep the services we have always offered available to our residents during the pandemic,” said Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to GCLS. “We are looking forward to opening at full capacity with no limitations, but until then it’s important to stay safe and utilize digital options for programming.”

Brainfuse is available to library patrons from home and is available for in-house library use at available computers.

As a reminder, all GCLS branch libraries continue to be open to the public with limited access. We are limiting the number of patrons allowed in each location at one time as follows:
Glassboro: 15
Greenwich: 15
Logan: 20
Mullica Hill: 35
Swedesboro: 10

Masks or face coverings are required to enter the library, and must be worn properly at all times. Please maintain Social Distancing while in the library and keep at least a 6-foot distance between yourself and other patrons and staff.

Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to GCLS, sat down with Ralph Bingham, Director of GCLS, to discuss what’s been happening with the library, how COVID changed operations and what’s coming up in the future.
