Battleship New Jersey comes to Gloucester County Library Two programs remain in the series

(Mullica Hill, NJ) - Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney and Freeholder Bill Krebs remind residents that there are still two programs remaining where staff from the Battleship New Jersey memorial will visit the Mullica Hill branch of the Gloucester County Library System (GCLS) to tell the story of the battleship in the Korean War and recount the activities of the ship during the Vietnamese War.

"Staff members from 'Big J' will discuss the ship's important role in America's military history during this series," said Freeholder Director Sweeney. Director Sweeney said that the presentations will include artifacts from the ship and the personal reminiscences of crew members.

"We live in a location rich with culture and living history," said Freeholder Director Sweeney. "Learning about the Battleship New Jersey from its staff and crew members will be a wonderful experience for anyone who attends this program," said Sweeney.

The programs will be held on:
Thursday, October 20th at 7pm - The Battleship New Jersey in Korea.
Thursday, November 17 at 7pm - The Battleship New Jersey in Viet Nam.

Freeholder Krebs, liaison to the Gloucester County Library System, said "Gloucester County's Library System provides many services and programs beyond conventional book-lending that get folks together to learn about history, enjoy our music programs and do just about anything that brings people together in a community."

Advance registration is requested, but not required. Call Nancy Polhamus at 223-6025 for registration or more information. The main branch of the Gloucester County Library is located at Route 45 & Wolfert Station Road, Mullica Hill.
