Outstanding Senior Volunteer honored at annual Senior Luncheon

(Deptford, NJ) On Wednesday, Oct. 9, the recipient of theGloucester County 2019 Outstanding Senior Volunteer award, Gail Nelson, washonored with a proclamation presented by the Gloucester County Board of ChosenFreeholders at the Gloucester County Senior Volunteer Recognition Luncheon heldat Auletto Caterers in Deptford. 

Gail began volunteering as President of the IncarnationSenior Citizen Club at Incarnation Church in Mantua. She then joined GloucesterCounty Senior Services as a volunteer receptionist in 2018 and volunteered hertime assisting with the Senior Picnic. Gail also serves as a trustee on theGloucester County Senior Citizens Club President Executive Board.  

Freeholder Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco said,"Volunteering is a wonderful way to strengthen our community and make adifference in the lives of those around us. It's important to recognize all ofour volunteers throughout the county, but especially those who make it theirjob to work with alongside our seniors and provide them with fun, social eventsand other programs catering to their needs." 

Freeholder Jefferson, liaison to Senior Services said, “GailNelson is a great example of how age doesn’t have to slow you down. Gail is adedicated and dependable volunteer, and the work she’s done for the seniorswithin our county is the reason she was chosen as our 2019 Outstanding SeniorVolunteer.  We are grateful for all that she does.”
