COMMUNITY CLEAN-UPS PLANNED IN CELEBRATION OF EARTH WEEK

Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney, liaison to the GCIA, announced that the count's Clean Communities program will be coordinating the annual county-wide clean up to celebrate Earth Week. The county-wide Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday April 23rd, 2005 during the Hours of 8 am- 2 pm, with a rain date of April 30th, 8 am - 2 pm.

"Cleaning up our communities is a great way to honor nature and celebrate Earth Week," said Freeholder Director Sweeney. "We are in the process of gearing up for our Clean Communities program and this clean up is a good way to create awareness of that program while beautifying our county at the same time," Sweeney said.

Clean ups for this county-wide event are based in each town and residents can volunteer to clean up their community by contacting their local Municipal Clean Communities Coordinator. If a town does not have a clean up scheduled, residents can contact the County's Coordinator @478-6045, ext.14 for a location to be cleaned.
