Upcoming events at Gloucester County Parks

(Clayton, NJ) – As the sun stays out a little longer, there is plenty to enjoy at the Gloucester County parks.  The Scotland Run Park Nature Center will hold several events and planning is taking place for the Red Bank Spring Festival in April and the Gloucester County Certified Gardener's Spring Garden Expo and Plant sale in May.

Freeholder Director Damminger said, "Daylight saving time and spring are right around the corner which makes it the perfect time to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air.  There are always plenty of events scheduled at our parks for our residents to enjoy."

Freeholder DiMarco, Liaison to the Dept. of Parks and Recreation, said that bird walks, Eco tours and other programs will be held at the Gloucester County parks throughout March and April. 

DiMarco said, “Our parks are beautiful year round, and there is always something going on to entertain or educate our residents.”

The below programs are free and held at the Scotland Run Park Nature Center, 980 E. Academy St., Clayton. 

Bird Walk, Saturday, March 3, at 9 a.m.

Volunteer Meeting, Wednesday, March 7 at 2 p.m.

Nature Stroll, Wednesday, March 14, at 2:30 p.m.

Eco Tour of Scotland Run Park, Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m.

Nature Tots takes place each Tuesday at Scotland Run Park and each Wednesday at Red Bank Battlefield Park – both from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  Registration is required due to limited class size. To register contact Kim Miller or call (856) 251-6710. 

The Red Bank Spring Festival at Red Bank Battlefield Park, National Park is scheduled for Sunday, April 22 from noon to 4 p.m. and the Certified Gardener’s Spring Garden Expo and Plant Sale will be held on May 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gloucester County Govt. Services Complex, Clayton.
