Career Connections expanded to all GCLS Libraries

(Glassboro, NJ) – The Gloucester County Library System’s Glassboro branch hosted a celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to recognize the extension of a grant from the NJ Department of Labor to provide specialized assistance to job seekers using Career Connections, a job search and career navigation service from the NJ Department of Labor.

The GCLS Glassboro Library was one of 19 public libraries in New Jersey to be awarded this grant. After a year of success, the service has been expanded to all GCLS libraries.

Career Connections assistance is provided at selected libraries and America’s Job Centers throughout the state. Working with librarians trained in the online Career Connections service, job-seekers receive personalized assistance in filing for unemployment benefits, conducting job searches, and submitting online job applications. As part of this service, the Gloucester County Library System partners with the Job Center (One-Stop Career Center) in Thorofare, providing referrals for more advanced assistance when needed.
