(National Park, NJ) –Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco announce a reminder that Gloucester County's historic James and Ann Whitall House at Red Bank Battlefield Park is hosting their annual candlelight tour this Friday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 10 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The last tours starts at 8:30 p.m. on both days.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, "The candlelight tour is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself and your family in the holiday traditions of a by-gone era."

Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco, Liaison to the Office of Land Preservation, said, “Come out and learn about the tastes and traditions of colonial Christmases, and visit with the hearth cookers working on a holiday feast.”

“Experiencing the Whitall House at Christmas is a sure way to get into the holiday spirit,” DiMarco said.

This year’s theme is A Natural Christmas.  Visitors will see the house decorated in Colonial style, incorporating greens, pinecones, and other found items from the forests, fields, meadows and riverbanks in the area.

The Candlelight Tour is free of charge and a service of the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders.  The Whitall House is located in Red Bank Battlefield, at 100 Hessian Ave., National Park, NJ.
