Scotland Run Park March 2016 Nature Events

(Clayton, NJ) – Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco announced today the nature events scheduled at Scotland Run Park throughout March.

Director Damminger said, “The programs at the Nature Center allow our residents to get out and about and learn about nature and the wildlife that surrounds us.”

Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the Department of Parks and Land Preservation, stated, “There is no better place to bring on the spring season than at the Nature Center at Scotland Run Park.  This March there are a variety of different events for all ages.  From green walks with your little ones to training to be a naturalist, there is something for everyone.  These events are the perfect opportunity to get out and breathe in the fresh air.”

The following free programs are held at the Nature Center located on Academy Street in Clayton:

Naturalist training
:  On Sat., March 5, 2016 and Sat., March 12, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. –3:30 p.m. become a Naturalist!  Learn about Nature and the outdoors and share your knowledge with others.

Nature Tots:   Wed., March 9, 2016 at 10 a.m.  Kids are never too young to learn about their natural environment.  Bring them out for our “Green Walk”.  We will make a craft and take a walk to see what’s green.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  This is a great activity for mom groups and other caregivers of young children.

Scout Saturday:  On Sat., March 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. your scouts can work on their Naturalist and Forestry requirements.  If you have some other outdoor topic you would like to work on with your troop, please contact the Nature Center.

Afternoon Nature Stroll on Wed., March 23, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.
