Swedesboro Branch of the Gloucester County Library System Prepares for Grand Re-Opening

(Swedesboro, NJ) - The satellite library operating in Swedesboro's Borough Hall will close on Thursday, May 26 in preparation for the grand re-opening of the Swedesboro Branch of the Gloucester County Library System at 1442 Kings Highway on Saturday, June 4.  The grand re-opening celebration will begin at 1 pm, and will include entertainment, activities for children, and light refreshments.  Brief ceremonies will take place at 1:30pm.

The library was closed on May 1, 2010 for the construction of an addition. The satellite library in the Borough Hall opened a few days later.  The newly expanded library will offer a children's area, computers with internet access, wireless internet, and a meeting room that is available to nonprofit community organizations.  The expansion of this branch is a cooperative effort between Gloucester County and Swedesboro.

The entire borough of Swedesboro recently received a Library Champion award from the New Jersey Library Association, in recognition of the borough's commitment to continuous library service for more than two centuries.
