Free Career Workshops Lead Up To Gloucester County Job Fair

(Sewell, NJ) – Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Heather Simmons announced that Gloucester County will hold free job search workshops for residents so they can refresh their knowledge on topics including effective job search techniques, effective interviewing skills, and how to use social media to land a job. 

“These free workshops all lead up to Gloucester County’s Job Fair and Career Resource event that will take place on March 7 at Gloucester County College,” stated Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger. 

Director Damminger said, “We want to give our residents every advantage in this competitive job market and these free workshops offer a lot of information and are taught by experts in the career field.”

Freeholder Heather Simmons, liaison to the Department of Economic Development and the Workforce Investment Board, said that the free workshops are offered both during the daytime and in the evening. 

Simmons said, “When our residents come to the March 7 Job Fair we want them to be prepared in every sense.  These workshops will teach job-seekers so much about what is current in finding a job in today’s marketplace.”

The Workshop entitled Effective Job Search Techniques How To Market Yourself to your Employers Effective Interviewing Skills will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 5 pm and on Friday Feb. 21 at 10 AM.

The Social Media Workshops:• LinkedIn • Facebook • Twitter will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5 pm and Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 am.

All workshops will be held at Gloucester County College, Health Science Building, Room 500, 1400 Tanyard Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080.

The March 7 Gloucester County Job Fair and Career Search will be held at Gloucester County College in the Eugene J. McCaffrey College Center Building from 9 am to 12 noon.  Attendees should dress for success, bring copies of their resume and be prepared for on-site interviews.
