Trail blaze to Celebrate Arbor Day
(East Greenwich, NJ) – Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Adam J. Taliaferro invite residents to come out and celebrate Arbor Day with a guided nature walk of a new county trail.
The free, guided nature walk will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 10 am and will showcase the beautiful trail behind the Shady Lane Home in Clarksboro.
“This one mile-long trail was funded through a green-acres grant and is available to all of our residents,” said Freeholder Director Damminger. “The trail has a gorgeous view of the Mantua Creek and the path features mature trees that are identified with signs so people can learn about what is indigenous to our region.”
Freeholder Adam Taliaferro, liaison to the Department of Parks and Recreation said, “Arbor Day is a great time to get outside and appreciate the nature that surrounds us. I invite everyone to join me on Saturday, April 27 to help me blaze this new trail and learn a little bit about the natural world.”
Taliaferro said that although Arbor Day officially falls on Friday, April 26, the county wanted to hold an event that families could enjoy together.
The guided nature walk at 10 am on Saturday, April 27 will be held rain or shine. Parking is available at the trail entrance. To register call (856) 881-0845.
