Summer Programs

We offer a variety of summer programs for residents of Gloucester County New Jersey.   Non-residents are accepted if space is available at the end of registration period. Programs generally start the first Monday after July 4 th. The following is a list of programs usually offered.

Nature Detectives
Grades 2 thru 6. This half day program introduces children to the outdoors through week long exploration of nature and our environment. Each day is a new adventure interacting with nature. Four one week sessions on two levels at Scotland Run Park , Clayton.

Sports Skills
Summer Program Sports Skills 
The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders has partnered with the YMCA of Gloucester County and Total Turf Experience to run sports skills programs at James G. Atkinson Park.
Registration for these camps are done directly through the YMCA of Gloucester County and Total Turf Experience.

Theatre Work Shops
8 yrs. to 17 yrs.  Children, working at one of three levels, are given the opportunity to develop a basic understanding and appreciation of the performing arts. Through games, instruction, exercises, and improvisation the children are prepared to perform in one of three productions; a one act play, a short musical or a full length musical. Children audition for parts after preparation. All children are included in a play. 

History Through the Garden
At The Whitall Garden, Red Bank Battlefield Park
Explore colonial Gloucester County with the Whitall Family and discover how the American Revolution touched their lives. Campers experience the 18th Century through hand-on activities, such as working in the garden planting, weeding and harvesting with certified Gloucester County gardeners.
