Vote By Mail

Can’t Get to the Polls? Too Busy to Vote? In New Jersey, any voter can vote by mail for any reason or no reason at all using the Vote By Mail ballot.  If you are a qualified and registered voter, then you may apply for a Vote By Mail ballot by completing the application and mailing to the address below.  The deadline for such requests by mail is 7 days before any and all elections (Primary, General, School, etc).  A Vote By Mail voter may also apply in person at the County Clerk’s Office on any working day until 3:00 p.m. on the day before the election.

The County Clerk cannot accept faxed copies of a Vote By Mail Application since an original signature is required.

Military Voting

Active-duty members of the Armed Forces, Merchant Marine, Public Health Service, NOAA, and their family members may register to vote and apply for a Vote By Mail ballot by using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA).
New Jersey law permits the emailing of Vote By Mail ballots to Uniformed Service Members and their families. The Federal Post Card Application is available online at the FVAP web site: http://www.fvap.gov/

April 2nd – Petition Filing Deadline by 4pm
April 11th – Change of Party Affiliation Deadline
April 13th – Drawing for ballot position at 3pm
April 20th – County Clerk’s Office begins to mail ballots
May 15th – Voter Registration Deadline
May 29th – Last day to apply for a ballot by mail (postmarked by May 29th)
June 4th – Last day to apply for a ballot in-person up to 3pm – 550 Grove Road, West Deptford
June 5th – Primary Election Day (Unaffiliated petition deadline for the General Election by 4pm)


Once the County Clerk’s office begins to mail ballots (45 days before election), updated vote by mail reports can be obtained daily by clicking here 

This new method of disseminating reports will provide users with up to date information that can be accessed using any device that has internet access such as smart phones, iPads, laptops, or desk top computers.

The County Clerk shall update vote by mail lists each business day and they shall be made available to the public.


Candidate-nominating petitions for all county offices as well as unaffiliated and other party candidates seeking local and county office are available for distribution from the Clerk’s Office. Petitions for local offices are available from your Municipal Clerk as well as the County Clerk.  Click below for number of signatures required.

Election Information

As a service to the public, the County Clerk’s Office maintains voter registration lists for 25 cents per district. By law these lists must be used for election purposes only. Campaign Expenditure Reports are on file also.

Attention School Board Candidates:
Petitions must be filled out and notarized before filing petition with County Clerk. The County Clerk does not notarize petitions.
